Meridian Community College is seeking a passionate and experienced Electrical Technology Instructor to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in electrical technology, specifically in both residential and commercial wiring, and a commitment to educating and mentoring students in this field.
Required Qualifications
- At least three years of verifiable full-time experience as an electrician, specifically in residential, commercial, and/or industrial settings.
- Comprehensive electrical codes knowledge, safety standards, and best practices.
- Proficiency in electrical system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, including wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, and conduit systems.
- Experience with electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Familiarity with various tools and equipment used in the electrical trade, including testing instruments, power tools, and safety gear.
Preferred Qualifications
- An associate degree in Electrical Technology (or a related field) OR a Journeyman’s or Master’s electrician certificate/license OR military training in the electrical field.
- Demonstrated competence in each area of instruction; teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
- Proficiency in curriculum development, instruction, student evaluation, and advising, along with knowledge and experience with various instructional methods and strategies.
- Skilled in the use of instructional technologies to enhance learning and must be able to adapt to and incorporate new and emerging technologies.
