Full job description

Position overview: BCC has a long history of culinary programs and has just relaunched a new certificate in culinary arts teaching primarily within a recently updated teaching kitchen. BCC is seeking a faculty member who can teach a variety of courses in culinary arts and related areas of food and beverage production to prepare students for work in the culinary industry. The typical workload is 15 credit hours of instruction each semester. Additional to teaching, the faculty member will advise students, assist in student recruitment and program maintenance and development, engage in college service and expand the educational partnerships with local restaurants, resorts, farms, and similar food service operations. Also, we are seeking a colleague who can liaise with the Division of Workforce Development and Community Education to support and promote effective pathways between credit-bearing and non-credit-bearing courses.

We are looking for a candidate who enjoys providing students with a professional perspective built on work experience in the field and appreciates the diversity of the community college population. The ideal candidate is a collaborative colleague who enjoys sharing their enthusiasm, expertise and experience in the culinary field with BCC's richly diverse student body.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related subject area required. Given the benefits of a Master's degree for college-level teaching, position holders may receive financial support towards earning a Master's degree. Instructional experience in culinary arts, food and beverage production, or related fields. Prior community college teaching experience is valued.
