Assistant Professor of Business in Management

Montana State University

Job Description

The Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship invites applications for a tenure-track position to join the college’s Management Option. Candidates would be expected to be able to teach courses in business analytics. Candidates with terminal degrees, experience, interests, and scholarship in Management Information Systems, Operations, Logistics, HR analytics, accounting analytics, marketing analytics, or similar fields are encouraged to apply. A normal teaching load is 15 hours per academic year. We seek candidates who are excellent in imparting state-of-the-art analytics knowledge to a socioeconomically, geographically, and increasingly ethnically diverse student body. In addition, candidates are expected to publish in top and impactful journals related to their field and engage in service. The management program offers an undergraduate concentration as part of the BS in Business program, and meaningfully contributes to the new graduate MS in Innovation and Management program. Therefore, a successful candidate must be able to teach with high quality across a variety of business analytics courses and topics at the Bachelor and Master levels, carrying a load of five sections per academic year. This intended hire is part of a deliberate effort to further integrate analytics education into the undergraduate and graduate curriculums. The successful candidate should, therefore, be able to collaborate with faculty across a broad cross-section of business disciplines.

We seek candidates who are passionate about delivering excellence in the classroom, producing exciting and impactful research and who will thrive in our rich, mountainous environment.

Montana State University values a broad array of experiences and perspectives and is committed to continually supporting, promoting and building an inclusive and culturally rich campus environment. We hope to attract applicants who can teach in a diverse university community and have demonstrated ability in helping students from diverse backgrounds succeed. MSU recognizes the importance of work-life integration and strives to be responsive to the needs of dual career couples
