Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. Westchester Community College is more than just the county's largest educational institution. Westchester Community College seeks part-time adjuncts to teach a one-credit First-Year Seminar course for the fall 2022 semester. The course is contextualized for each school with an emphasis on academic, career, and transfer pathways; study skills; familiarity with campus resources; and awareness of real-world life skills. The Adjunct will teach the First-Year Seminar according to the course curriculum. Applicants must be enthusiastic about teaching first-year students and demonstrate an understanding of the college experience. Incumbents will participate in faculty development activities to include a one day-long orientation meeting on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
A minimum of a Master's degree from an accredited university and one-year of experience are required.
POSITION EFFECTIVE: Fall 2022
SALARY & BENEFITS: $82.57 per hour. No benefits.
