Position:

The School of Marketing and Innovation at the Muma College of Business, University of South Florida, Tampa, invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in Marketing. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in business administration specialization in marketing from an accredited University or a Ph.D. in a related field from a university accredited in that field or expect to complete such a Ph.D. by Summer 2025 (July).

Applications are welcomed from all marketing areas, although a strong preference exists for scholars with highly developed quantitative skills, particularly in empirical modeling. Expertise in artificial intelligence is a plus. Ideal candidates will target and publish in the most prestigious marketing journals (JM, JMR, JCR, MS) and demonstrate excellence in teaching with the ability to contribute at both undergraduate and graduate levels. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position.

The School of Marketing and Innovation at USF’s Muma College of Business offers cutting-edge undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs in Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain Management, Entrepreneurship, and Global Business, including a PhD concentration in Marketing. Among the school’s centers of excellence is the Center for Marketing and Sales Innovation, which manages a state-of-the-art biometric-equipped Customer Experience and Artificial Intelligence Lab. The undergraduate AMA chapter ranks 4th among over 300 collegiate chapters.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A PhD in Business with specialization in marketing from an AACSB (or international equivalent) accredited institution or a PhD in other related disciplines before the start of employment
  • Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor

Primary Considerations:

  • Evidence of ability or potential to publish in top-level journals in marketing.
  • Overall quality of the candidate as indicated by letters of reference and personal contacts.
  • Reputation of the institution granting the candidate’s degree.
  • Reputation of the institution(s) where the candidate might have been employed previously.

Ideal Candidate will Demonstrate:

  • Evidence of ability to make substantive service contributions to the university and the profession.
  • Expectation that the candidate will be collegial.
  • Evidence of superior teaching ability.
  • Interest in applying for externally funded research.
