Work Mode: This position requires a full-time in-person presence on campus or at alternative locations.

Position Summary

Teaching Assistants (TA) provide support to the learning enrichment program held at the AACC campus. TAs will assist students with projects and provide support to faculty. An enhanced background check is required before beginning employment. The program serves elementary through high school students.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate and work with students and instructors
  • Provide instructions and direction to students as needed
  • Monitor behavior and assess if the behavior is appropriate
  • Identify and respond to hazards related to learning activities
  • Implement appropriate emergency procedures if necessary
  • Ensure students are supervised at all times
  • Assist with the organization and distribution of instructional supplies.
  • Help students to follow class policies and guidance
  • Be a positive role model
  • Model effective communication skills and work ethic
  • Maintain professional behavior
  • Report any concerns to classroom instructor or coordinator
  • Submit a written incident report to Coordinator within 24 hours of an incident occurring
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older (or 17 and graduated from High school)
  • Experience working with children
  • Comfortable working in a classroom environment
