Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Instructors will be responsible for providing: Armed Sentry/Security Reaction Force (Basic) (AS/SRF-B) and Submarine Force Sentry (SFS) - Basic training to Navy personnel.

Pay Rate: $30-35

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide instruction to Navy students including classroom and demonstration training, following established curriculum
  • Oversee safety of all training operations
  • Evaluate student performance and participate in review boards as necessary.
  • Maintain all qualifications in accordance with Navy Instruction
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • High school diploma required
  • Four years of practical experience in Law Enforcement, Military, or First Responder operations required
  • Possess Navy NEC 0812 preferred or SAMI, direct experience in the field of expertise which applies to the courses for which they will instruct is required
  • SRF-A / SRF-B preferred
  • Preferred to also have one (or more) of the following qualifications:
    • Navy NEC 9502 (Instructor), or NITC
    • Navy NEC 9518 (Naval Leadership Development Program (NAVLEAD) Instructor, or
    • Graduate of one of the following courses of instruction:
      • Instructional Delivery Continuum (IDC) Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT) (A-012-0077)
      • Instructional Delivery Continuum (IDC) Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT) Mobile Training Team (A-012-1011)
      • Naval Leadership Facilitator (P-012-0045)
      • Facilitator Training Course (P-012-0075)
      • Nuclear Instruction Qualifications (NFAS) (A-661-0108)
      • Nuclear Instruction Qualifications (NNPS) (A-661-0109)
      • Attendance of any DOD Instructor Training Course
      • Other DoD Service designation (or equivalency) upon approval of the CENSECFOR DOT (see note below), or
      • Completion of a civilian (or commercial) formal course of instruction which has been evaluated and certified as a JIT equivalency by the Center for Personal and Professional Development (CPPD)
      • If no prior Instructor qualifications must complete instructor journeyman class within 60 days of hire
    • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
    • Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
    • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is based in a busy training environment and subject to frequent interruptions. In addition to work in a classroom setting, frequent work outside and in inclement weather conditions is required, including heat, cold and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Must wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company safety standards. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required, and work schedule will vary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 100 lbs. Requires standing for long periods of time in all weather conditions. Requires intermittent sitting, walking, running, climbing, squatting, stretching, bending and kneeling. Requires constant use of hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
