RCC invites you to apply for a faculty-ranked teaching position in Accounting. This position is a full-time, nine-month appointment with an excellent benefits package. The anticipated hiring range is $52,000 – $72,000 and will be commensurate with education and experience. The position begins August 16, 2024.
The College desires candidates with a commitment to the community college mission and experience working in a diverse student population, including adult learners and at-risk students. The successful candidate will be committed to academic excellence, continuous improvement through professional development, assessment, program and course development, and creating a collegial environment of civility, collaboration and open communication. The college strives for a faculty of content experts who are also knowledgeable about best practices, innovative strategies, and instructional technologies that support teaching and learning. Outreach and service to the college community (developing partnerships, academic advising, and committee work and faculty governance) along with the ability to teach 15 credits per semester. Finalists will be asked to perform a teaching demonstration.
Duties and responsibilities will primarily include teaching a wide-range of accounting classes including principles of accounting, computerized accounting, payroll accounting, cost accounting and small business taxes. Other duties will include, but are not limited to facilitating student learning through in class and out of class activities, maintaining up to date knowledge in accounting practices, trends in community college and accounting education, and using a variety of instructional delivery systems including interactive video, web, and other electronic media. A majority of the accounting courses are currently taught online, but this position requires a strong on-campus presence. Teaching faculty will advise students, collaborate with colleagues, adopt textbooks, draft course syllabi, develop new courses, participate in assessment and improvement activities related to course/curriculum/instruction, mentor adjunct faculty, assist with dual enrollment initiatives, and participate in college governance committees. Teaching assignments and schedule may include day and evening assignments, cross-campus or off-campus assignments, and teaching concurrently enrolled high school students.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
