Job Description

 

York Technical College, a member of the South Carolina Technical and Comprehensive Education System, is a public, two-year institution of higher education that offers a variety of associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Through maximizing student success, the College seeks to contribute to the economic growth and development of York, Lancaster, and Chester counties and of the State.


The Director of Faculty and Curriculum Support performs the following functions:

 
  • Collaborates with academic stakeholders to identify faculty training needs. Designs workshops, on-demand offerings, and other development opportunities to enhance teaching techniques, integrate technology, and foster student engagement. Facilities new faculty training programs. Manages training and delivery systems as well as resources indices.
  • Provides guidance on curriculum development, review, and revision processes. Ensures compliance with accreditation standards, state and federal regulations, and internal expectations. Facilitates course design and development processes.
  • Supports LMS administration and serves as administrator of select LMS integrations or instructional technologies. Develops instructional resources, templates, and training materials to support faculty in course design, assessment practices, and utilization of instructional technologies.
  • Stays current on trends, research, and best practices related to community college curriculum, instruction, and faculty support. Stays current and consults on artificial intelligence and other relevant technologies.
  • Prepares reports and collects data on faculty development activities, teaching effectiveness, and curriculum enhancements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum and Additional Requirements

 

  • Master’s degree in arts & humanities, business, science, instructional development or a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in a discipline offered by York Technical College.
  • Three years’ experience in instructional development, curriculum or program design and management, classroom teaching and online course development.
