The University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applications for a term faculty member, non-tenure track position to teach business law. This position may also teach related business administration courses. Duties:

 

1-70%- Teach six courses per academic year, or equivalent. - Create new curriculum for in-person and online courses, as needed. - Incorporate experiential learning into the curriculum. - Prepare syllabi consistent with UAF guidelines. - Hold regular office hours. - Participate in Assurance of Learning.Essential
30%- Engage in university, professional, and/or community service. - Participate in student recruiting and other events related to the College of Business and Security Management (CBSM). - Develop intellectual contributions and teaching areas via basic or discovery scholarship. - May serve as an advisor/faculty mentor to a student organization.Essential

The successful candidate will possess an earned Juris Doctor from an accredited institution.

The primary duties of the position are to teach six courses per year. Outstanding teaching and excellent communication skills are required. Candidates will participate in departmental and university service and engage in continuing professional development. The successful candidate will also be responsible to research and develop intellectual contributions in the form of basic or discovery scholarship. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to teach courses in Business Law and other courses related to Business Administration.
Strong communication skills are required.
Ability to conduct quality research and provide intellectual contributions.

Preferred Experience:
Applicants should have experience teaching in higher education and researching and developing intellectual contributions.

Required Education or Training:

Earned Juris Doctor is required.


Salary Information:

This is a full-time faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
